Span Series I.Overview: Sorbitan fatty acid ester (Span) is a non-ionic surfactant
regarding fatty acids groups as the hydrophobic part and sorbitan
groups as the hydrophilic part. Polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan fatty
acid ester (Tween) is a non-ionic surfactant regarding fatty acids
groups as the hydrophobic part and sorbitan polyethylene glycol
ether groups as the hydrophilic part. Ⅱ. Quality Standards: (Polysorbate-80 will abide by the Standard CP2000, and other
series will abide by the Standard USP24). III.Applications: In the pharmaceutical industry, the products of Span series are
widely used in processing of finished drugs in various dosage
forms, used for solubilizer and emulsifier of injection and oral
liquid, disintegrating agents of tablets, dispersant of capsules,
emulsifier and matrix of ointment, matrix of suppository, etc. In
addition, the products of Span, Tween series are the most common
emulsifier in the food industry. IV.Packaging, Storage and Transportation: The products with weights of 25kg kraft bag or200kg iron drum
packing, and they should be stored in a cool ventilated place and
the preserve temperature should be kept below 40 ℃, meanwhile,
insolate, high temperature and humidity are strictly prohibited. In
order to prevent breakage, violent collision should be avoided, and
the guarantee period for storage is two years.
